A bronze statue of legendary Formula One driver Gilles Villeneuve was stolen from outside his museum in Berthierville, Quebec, in late
October/early November 2024, leaving only sawed-off boots, with police and locals fearing it would be melted for scrap metal despite
condemnation from his son, Jacques Villeneuve, and a reward offered for its return. The theft of the life-sized monument, a significant
